How much does a website cost?

A business website from Tudorvale starts from £900 plus VAT. That is the starting point for a straightforward site. What you actually pay depends on a handful of things, set out below, so you can see roughly where your project sits before we talk.

What moves the price

  • How many pages, and what is on them. A few pages of text and photos is quicker to build than a site with a booking system, a shop or a members' area.
  • One language or two. A bilingual site is more than a translated copy. Every page, menu, form, error message and email exists in Welsh and in English, and both versions need checking. We plan the two languages together from the start.
  • Who writes the words and takes the photos. If you have finished text and good photos, the build is quicker. Writing, translation and photography are extra work and are priced separately.
  • Bookings, payments and shops. Taking bookings, payments or orders online adds setup, testing and ongoing care.
  • Connecting other systems. Sending forms into Microsoft 365, a CRM or your accounts software adds time.
  • Replacing an old site. Moving from an existing site means carrying content across and redirecting the old addresses, so links and bookmarks keep working.

Running costs to plan for

Once a site is live there are three ongoing costs: the domain name, hosting, and care, meaning updates, backups and small changes. Many businesses also pay for email on the same domain, usually through Microsoft 365. These are set out in the quote. Hosting is covered on our Hosting & Infrastructure page.

Is a website builder cheaper?

Often, yes, at the start. Website builders charge a monthly fee and you do the work yourself, which suits some businesses well. The trade-off is your time, and working within what the builder allows.

Getting a price for your site

Tell us what the site needs to do, whether it should be in Welsh and English, and what text and photos you already have, and we will come back with a quote. Recent sites, including The Ship Aground in Talsarnau and Y Griffin in Penrhyndeudraeth, are on our Web Design & Creative page.

Common questions

How much does a website cost in Wales?

Tudorvale websites start from £900 plus VAT for a straightforward business site. Two languages, bookings, payments and links to other systems add to that, and every project is quoted individually.

Does a bilingual Welsh and English website cost more?

Yes, because every page, menu, form and message exists in both languages and both versions need checking. Planning the two languages together from the start is usually simpler than adding Welsh to an English site later.

Are there running costs after the site is built?

Yes: the domain name, hosting, and care for updates, backups and small changes. They are set out in the quote so nothing comes as a surprise.
